Chip Honcho and Express Kid picked up Kentucky Derby 2026 qualifying points at opposite ends of the map Saturday night. One shortened his odds in Nevada futures, and the other made his first appearance on the board at Caesars Sportsbook, which now lists 101 horses.

Chip Honcho shortened from 125-1 to 85-1 after winning the Gun Runner Stakes at Fair Grounds, giving Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen his third victory in the race named for the horse he trained to 2017 horse of the year honors. The Connect colt prevailed in the field of six, stalking pacesetter Crown the Buckeye before getting up in the final strides to win by three-quarters of a length.

Express Kid, the 34-1 upset winner of the Remington Springboard Mile, made his first appearance on the Caesars board at 95-1. The son of Bodexpress went gate to wire under jockey José Álvarez for trainer Wade Rarick. Odds-on favorite Arctic Beast, who shipped in undefeated from New York, could manage only second and opened in the futures at 100-1.

Ted Noffey, the Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner, remained the favorite in the Las Vegas futures at 8-1 on Monday morning. Trained by Todd Pletcher, the Into Mischief colt has won all four of his starts, including three consecutive Grade 1 scores. His odds drifted slightly from 7.5-1 to 8-1 since last week.

The biggest news of the week might have been off the track. Mr. A.P., runner-up in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile, will miss the Kentucky Derby trail through at least the end of March after a setback, according to a report from the Daily Racing Form. The son of American Pharoah remains on the board at 25-1 despite trainer Vladimir Cerin's announcement that his return would be delayed.

Liberty National, the 7-2 morning-line favorite in the Gun Runner who finished second, shortened from 70-1 to 65-1. The Maxfield colt is trained by Kenny McPeek, who won Kentucky Derby 2024 with Mystik Dan. Crown the Buckeye, the Ohio-bred who set the pace in the Gun Runner before tiring late, opened at 100-1.

Seven horses made their first appearance on the futures board this week: Express Kid (95-1), Crown the Buckeye (100-1), Arctic Beast (100-1), Quality Mischief (125-1), Mister Punch (125-1), Big Apple Patrick (150-1) and Arabia Wild (150-1). Tagermeen, who had been listed at 85-1, was removed from the board.

Several other horses saw their odds shorten this week. Mob was cut from 55-1 to 45-1, and Big Dom moved from 55-1 to 50-1. Satono Voyage, the Japan-trained colt, drifted significantly from 35-1 to 55-1, the largest move in the opposite direction.

These were the Kentucky Derby 2026 odds showing Monday morning at Caesars Sportsbook in Nevada. They are available for betting either in person or on an app within the state of Nevada.
