The west division of the Kentucky Derby 2026 scouting report provides a list of prospects for the run for the roses. The west division includes Derby prep races that are run in California and New Mexico. That means stakes at Santa Anita, Los Alamitos, Del Mar and Sunland.

Since the road to the Derby began in September, nine official points races have been run, and two of them were won by 2-year-olds in this division. Intrepido won the Grade 1 American Pharoah, and Litmus Test was first in last weekend’s Los Alamitos Futurity (G2), both for Bob Baffert.

From the 13 horses listed in this first west division report, Baffert has nine and Doug O’Neill has two. Zedan Racing is the top owner in this report with three 2-year-olds who sold for a total of $5.2 million.

Horses qualified for this report by earning qualifying points on the Derby trail and/or being part of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager pool 2. They are here in order by Derby points earned or alphabetically with the most recent odds at Caesars Sportsbook in Nevada. Listed next are Kentucky Derby Future Wager odds from pool 2 last month, sire, trainer, ownership, most recent race, overall record, earnings and a summary comment.
