Kentucky Derby 2026: Future Wager, Sire Wager open Thursday
Fans will have their second of six opportunities to bet on Kentucky Derby 2026 on Thursday through Sunday with pool 2 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager. Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Ted Noffey was named the 6-1 individual favorite, with all others foaled in 2023 made the overall 9-5 favorite.
Running concurrently with pool 2 of the Kentucky Derby Future Wager is the lone Kentucky Derby Sire Future Wager, where fans can wager on sires of Derby prospects. Top stallion Into Mischief, who is the sire of Ted Noffey, was made the 4-1 favorite.

The four-day pools, featuring $2 win and exacta wagering, open Thursday at noon EST and will close Sunday at 6 p.m. Players can bet these on all major ADW platforms and at simulcast outlets across the country.
In last year’s second Kentucky Derby Future Wager, eventual Kentucky Derby 151 winner Sovereignty closed at 19-1.
There are no refunds in the Kentucky Derby Future Wager or Kentucky Derby Sire Future Wager. If Churchill Downs officials determine during the duration of this week’s pools that one of the wagering interests experiences an injury, illness or other circumstance that would prevent the horse from participating in the May 2 Kentucky Derby, betting on the individual horse will be suspended immediately.
Four more Kentucky Derby Future Wagers pool dates have been set. Pool 3 will be taken Jan. 16-18, pool 4 on Feb. 13-15, pool 5 on March 13-15 and pool 6 on April 2-4. The Kentucky Oaks Future Wager will be open at the same time as pool 5.

The morning-line favorite for the Kentucky Derby Sire Future Wager is Into Mischief, at 4-1. He closed as the 5-1 second choice last year, behind all other sires at 9-2. Into Mischief sired 2025 Kentucky Derby winner Sovereignty, his third Kentucky Derby winner after Authentic and Mandaloun, tying him for the all-time record for Kentucky Derby winners by a sire.
