Kentucky Derby 2024: Booth leads 3 hopefuls on work tab
Booth, a Mitole half-brother to Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup winner Bright Future, topped the Kentucky Derby hopefuls on the Friday work tab.
The Steve Asmussen trainee, a 5 1/4-length debut winner at Keeneland on Oct. 7, worked four furlongs in 50.2 seconds on the dirt at Fair Grounds. Booth returned from his maiden race to finish fifth behind Just Steel as the odds-on favorite in the Ed Brown on Nov. 25 at Churchill Downs. Friday's drill was his second since that stakes outing.
