Kentucky Derby 2024: 3 last-out winners work Monday morning
Squints returned to the work tab Monday morning for the first time since winning the Juvenile Sprint at Gulfstream on Nov. 11. He worked four furlongs at Palm Meadows, a distance he covered in 49.3 seconds.
Though he was well-beaten two starts back in the Florida Sire Affirmed, no match for odds-on Bentornato, the Kelly Breen trainee won the Juvenile Sprint by daylight as the longest shot on the board. Squints is currently a 200-1 shot in Las Vegas futures for the Kentucky Derby.
Two other last-out winners in those futures books worked Monday morning. Boy Magic, a six-furlong allowance winner Sept. 24 at Pimlico, is undefeated in two starts. He worked Monday morning at Gulfstream for trainer Jorge Delgado. Real Macho, trained by Rohan Crichton, posted a second-out maiden special weight win Nov. 25 in a dirt mile at Gulfstream. Boy Magic is 190-1 in Las Vegas, and Real Macho is 235-1.

These six Kentucky Derby trail hopefuls worked across the country Monday morning:
All That Glory (Goldencents), worked five furlongs in 59.6 seconds at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the fastest of 30 works at the distance. His previous work was nine days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed second in a maiden race going 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track at Del Mar on Nov. 25 for trainer Tim Yakteen.
Boy Magic (Good Magic), worked four furlongs in 49.6 seconds at Gulfstream Park on Monday morning. It was the 43rd fastest of 62 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Gulfstream Park. In his last start he won an allowance race going six furlongs on the main track at Pimlico on Sept. 24 for trainer Jorge Delgado.
Lasso (Brethren), worked five furlongs in 1:00.6 at Gulfstream Park on Monday morning. It was the third fastest of 17 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed fifth in the FTBOA Florida Sire In Reality going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Gulfstream Park on Dec. 2 for trainer Juan Alvarado.
Normandy Hero (Omaha Beach), worked four furlongs in 48.8 seconds at Oaklawn on Monday morning. It was the fastest of 18 works at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at Oaklawn. In his last start he placed third in the Ed Brown going 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 25 for trainer Rodolphe Brisset.
Real Macho (Mucho Macho Man), worked five furlongs in 1:01.2 at Gulfstream Park on Monday morning. It was the 10th fastest of 17 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he won a maiden race going one mile on the main track at Gulfstream Park on Nov. 25 for trainer Rohan Crichton.

In his last start he won the Juvenile Sprint going 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track at Gulfstream Park on Nov. 11 for trainer Kelly Breen.
