Kentucky Derby 2018 odds: Tenfold debuts on the board

Tenfold, a 5 3/4-length debut winner last Friday going two turns at Oaklawn Park, announced himself as a potential contender for the 2018 Kentucky Derby with that run. He's available for a decent price, too, in the Wynn Las Vegas' future book.

Campaigned by Winchell Thoroughbreds, of Gun Runner fame, the son of Curlin opened at 100-1 in the latest odds listed this week.

It hasn't been announced when or where the Steve Asmussen trainee will next run, but the Hall of Fame conditioner has a barn loaded with Derby prospects, and proximity to Fair Grounds could position him to run back in allowance conditions before making a quick move to stakes.

Among other big weekend performers, Grade 3 Sam F. Davis winner Flameaway is 60-1 and Grade 2 San Vicente Stakes winner Kanthaka 35-1. The Sam F. Davis runner-up Catholic Boy (25-1) and third-place finisher Vino Rosso (20-1) also sport short odds.

Overall, the Wynn's Kentucky Derby favorites now fewer than three months out from the first Saturday in May are Bolt d'Oro (7-1), McKinzie (8-1) and Good Magic (12-1).
