Kentucky Derby 2018 odds: McKinzie favored in Las Vegas

The Wynn Las Vegas’ latest 2018 Kentucky Derby odds represent a race for favoritism about as close as McKinzie and Bolt d’Oro were at the wire of Saturday’s Grade 2 San Felipe Stakes.

In new odds distributed this week, McKinzie sits a 7-1 choice after he took Santa Anita’s latest prep by a head, but was subsequently disqualified for moving out in deep stretch. The Wynn lists Bolt d’Oro at 8-1.

Las Vegas' odds are a reflection of probability to win, of course, along with money wagered and risk by the race book. During his lengthy layoff, Bolt d’Oro’s price fluctuated from between 7-1 to 14-1.

Champion Good Magic is the third choice at 11-1, followed by Grade 2 Holy Bull winner Audible and Justify, who passed his two-turn test Sunday, both at 12-1.

As far as last weekend’s other winners go, Enticed plummeted from 75-1 to 15-1 having taken the Grade 3 Gotham Stakes, while Quip dropped 100 points, from 125-1 to 25-1, with his Grade 2 Tampa Bay Derby score.

Solomini, the anticipated favorite for this weekend’s Grade 2 Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park, is 20-1.
