Kentucky Derby 2018 head to head prop bets open in Vegas

One of the most simple ways to bet the 2018 Kentucky Derby — should you have access to it — comes in the form of the Wynn Las Vegas’ annual head to head matchups. The racebook this week opened 12 such props.

They’re a risky venture to wager on even before the post position draw, but certainly lines will change should any horses listed draw far inside or out. And, of course, there’s still no guarantee any contender will actually start May 5 at Churchill Downs.

But these matchups in particular are intriguing…

Magnum Moon (+150) vs. Justify (-180): The first is 4-for-4. The second is 3-for-3. Both are up against that pesky “curse of Apollo.”

Bolt d’Oro (+110) vs. Good Magic (-140): The top 2-year-old colts are no longer Derby favorites, but this remains an interesting match race.

Firenze Fire (-110) vs. Promises Fulfilled (-120): Will a likely pace setter fall back far enough to be caught by a longshot plodder?

See the Wynn’s full head to head listings below, with the option to go full screen at the bottom right.
