With morning-line favorite Éclatant scratched, two-time stakes winner G W’s Girl inherited the role of favorite among five 3-year-old fillies entered for the 40th running of the Grade 2, $400,000 Beaumont Stakes on Sunday, the rescheduled opening day at Keeneland.

Run over seven furlongs and 184 feet on the main track, the Beaumont will be the ninth of 10 races and has a 5:16 p.m. EDT post time. Sunday’s first post is 1 p.m.

A winner of two black-type, six-furlong stakes this winter at Oaklawn, G W’s Girl had been established as a 2-1 choice on the original morning line. The $130,000 Munnings filly owned by Mag Racing is trained by Greg Compton. For her first time going against graded company, G W’s Girl has José Ortiz in the irons breaking from post 2.

Brad Cox, who trains Éclatant, instead send outs Forward Gal runner-up Stunner. The filly owned by LNJ Foxwoods and Church Street Stable has post 4 and will be ridden by Flavien Prat.

The Keeneland spring season had been scheduled to begin Friday. That was before a postponement caused by an incoming storm that brought widespread flooding around Kentucky. Friday’s card highlighted by the Ashland Stakes (G1) was rescheduled for Monday. Saturday’s Blue Grass (G1) program will be run Tuesday.
