Justaroundmidnight Upsets Marshua's River

Jockey Joe Bravo made it clean sweep of the Gulfstream Park stakes Jan. 9, as he guided 26-1 longshot Justaroundmidnight to victory in the $100,000 Marshua’s River (gr. IIIT) one race after scoring the Ft. Lauderdale (gr. IIIT) in dramatic fashion.

Irish-bred Justaroundmidnight passed 36-1 Persuading in the final strides to win by a half-length for her first stakes triumph. The 4-year-old daughter of Danehill Dancer was making her first start since June and only her third start in the United States.

She broke her maiden in her U.S. debut at Monmouth Park last summer and was sixth in the Boiling Springs (gr. IIIT) two weeks later.

The dark bay/brown filly was winless in five starts in Ireland. She is now in the barn of Patrick Biancone, who trains for Mrs. Paul Shanahan.
