Stakes winner Just Google Me and Patriotic Diamond headline a field of eight in the $100,000 Soviet Problem Stakes Saturday at Los Alamitos.
Restricted to 2-year-old fillies bred or sired in California, the one-mile Soviet Problem is the eighth of nine races. Post time Saturday is 12:30 p.m. Approximate post for the afternoon’s main event is 4 p.m.
The third day of the Winter meet also includes a live money handicapping contest with two spots up for grabs in the 2016 Daily Racing Form/National Thoroughbred Racing Association National Handicapping Championship in Las Vegas.

After defeating maidens in her career debut when dismissed at nearly 33-1 July 3, the daughter of Stormin Fever and the Cryptoclearance mare Lila Paige romped by 9 ½ lengths as the 4-5 choice in the Barretts Debutante Sept. 19.

Patriotic Diamond is being wheeled back quickly after winning an optional claimer as the favorite Nov. 26 at Del Mar.

Her stakes victory came in the Generous Portion Aug. 28 at Del Mar as she defeated Just Google Me and seven others as the 19-10 second choice.
Lucky to Win defeated maidens in her second start for owner-breeder Harris Farms, Inc. and trainer Sean McCarthy. The daughter of Lucky J.H. and the Tale of the Cat mare Winning Tale has earned $34,320.
Owned by breeder Kretz Racing LLC and trained by Kristin Mulhall, Roo’s Valentine switches surfaces after leading throughout against maidens on the Del Mar turf course Nov. 5.
A Vronsky filly out of the Cindago mare Black Valentine, Roo’s Valentine is 1-for-4 with earnings of $56,240.
Run for Retts is winless in three races since winning first time out when 27-1 Aug. 15 at Del Mar.
Trained by Steve Miyadi for owner-breeders Tom and Debi Stull’s Tommy Town Thoroughbreds, the Ministers Wild Cat filly out of the Jump Start mare Mrs. Began has banked $48,430. She finished fourth, six lengths behind Patriotic Diamond, last week.

The Scat Daddy filly out of the Unbridled’s Song mare Unbridled Echo is 1-for-3 with a bankroll of $37,850.
Lovingier and Navarro are looking for consecutive wins in the Soviet Problem having scored with favored My Fiona in 2014.
Completing the field is the maiden And in the End, who was fourth in the Barretts Debutante in her only local appearance.
