Trainer Jason Servis enjoyed a one-two finish in Sunday’s $60,000 Klassy Briefcase Stakes at Monmouth Park as Ju Ju Eyeballs ran down stablemate Indian Splendor in the 5 ½ furlong turf dash.

With Paco Lopez aboard, Ju Ju Eyeballs sat off the early speed of her stablemate before splitting rivals at the top of the straight and drawing off to a nearly two length score, covering the distance over firm ground in 1:01 1/5.  The winner, dispatched the 2-1 favorite in the field of 12 fillies and mares, returned $6.40, $4.60 and $3.40.  Indian Splendor completed the $102 exacta and paid $14.40 and $7.80.  It was another neck back to Aquinnah, who rallied to pay $5.60 to show.

“That sure worked out well,” said winning trainer Jason Servis.  “These two horses complemented one another, one likes to be on the lead, the other can come from off of it.  This filly ran great.  She was pulling the jock at the 3/8ths pole and when she got room that was it.”

A 4-year-old daughter of Gators N Bears from the Smarten mare Savvy Lady, Ju Ju Eyeballs has won seven of her 14 lifetime outings.
