Journalism will remain in training and is pointed to the Grade 1 Pegasus World Cup Invitational at Gulfstream Park on Jan. 24.

Co-owner Don Alberto Corp. said in an X post that the decision came after a meeting with Coolmore, which announced in March that Journalism will stand at its Ashford Stud when he is retired. The Curlin colt will race "through the 2026 season," according to the post.

"As part of the agreement, purse earnings will be shared equally between Coolmore and the remaining ownership partners, reflecting a partnership built on history, vision, and excellence," the Don Alberto post said.

Trained by Michael McCarthy, Journalism was purchased as a yearling for $825,000 and has career earnings of $4.3 million. He won three Grade 1 stakes this year, the Santa Anita Derby, Preakness and Haskell. He alternated those with runner-up efforts to Sovereignty in the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes and to Fierceness in the Pacific Classic (G1). Most recently, he finished fourth in Saturday's Breeders' Cup Classic.
