Trainer Michael McCarthy is sending Preakness winner Journalism to Saratoga to train, though no decision has yet been made as to whether the Preakness winner will race in the Belmont Stakes on June 7.

The official Belmont Stakes account on X posted a video Monday of Journalism being loaded onto a horse van from Pimlico, headed to Saratoga.

Though Journalism was on his way to Saratoga, it has not yet been confirmed whether he will start in the final jewel of the Triple Crown. McCarthy appeared on At the Races with Steve Byk and said he would send Journalism to Saratoga while considering the Belmont, according to a post on X by Leslie Knauf and reposted by Byk. McCarthy has not yet responded to a request for confirmation from Horse Racing Nation.

If Journalism does start in the Belmont, it sets up a rematch between the top two finishers in the Kentucky Derby. Winner Sovereignty bypassed the Preakness and is probable for the Belmont. He already waw shipped to Saratoga for trainer Bill Mott and posted a workout on its dirt training track Saturday, his first drill since his victory in the Kentucky Derby.
