Ballis, Swinbank and Lewis’s Join in the Dance, always well placed, rallied when set down for the drive to be best by three-quarters of a length in Thursday’s featured $47,000 second level allowance race at Fair Grounds.

Ridden by Shaun Bridgmohan, aboard his third winner of the afternoon, Join in the Dance justified his role as the favorite with mutuels of $4.80, $3.20 and $2.20 while getting the mile and 70-yard distance in 1:43.91.

Trained by Steve Margolis, Join in the Dance increased his career earnings to $420,820 although he was only registering his second career victory in 17 lifetime starts.

Preston Stables’ Sky’s the Limit launched a late bid to be easily second best, finishing 3 1/2-lengths in front of Craig Singer’s Thunder Perfect. Sky’s the Limit paid $4.60 and $3 while Thunder Perfect returned $2.80 in the show spot.

Brent Gasaway and Ian Yarnot’s Unbridled’s Heart ticked off early splits of 24.87 and 48.64 before tiring in the final furlong.
