Centeno, McCarthy are cleared to race Friday after spill
Jockeys Alexis Centeno and Trevor McCarthy were released from a hospital and cleared to ride Friday after a spill Sunday at Los Alamitos.
As reported earlier by the Daily Racing Form, the two underwent precautionary tests after their accident, which happened after the start of the fourth race.
Centeno was aboard Sherlock in the five-furlong maiden special weight race for 2-year-olds, and McCarthy was riding Creative Peak. Both jockeys were unseated when the horses collided and were taken by paramedics to a Long Beach, Calif., hospital, according to the DRF report. The horses ran off, were rounded up and taken to the stables.
McCarthy posted this video of the collision:
And here are the two riders at the hospital, as posted on Twitter by jockey José Verenzuela.
And McCarthy celebrated by making his first visit to In-N-Out Burger.
