Apprentice Lane Luzzi will miss 4-to-6 weeks after fracturing his collarbone in a riding accident Thursday at Gulfstream Park.
Luzzi was unseated in Thursday's third race. Agent Walter Blum Jr., said Friday that Luzzi flew home to New York to be with family and undergo surgery.
Luzzi, who moved his tack from Maryland to Florida two weeks ago, had won three of his first nine mounts in Florida while finishing second twice.
