Crossed Sabres Farm’s Jay Eye See shot through on the inside turning for home and battled Mutiny down to the wire to post a head victory in the $42,000 allowance/optional claiming feature at Monmouth Park on Saturday.
Trained by Marcus Vitali and ridden by Gabriel Saez, Jay Eye See covered the six furlongs over a fast main track in 1:10 3/5 and paid $16.80, $7.60 and $3.80. Mutiny completed the $81.60 exacta and returned $4.40 to place and $3.20 to show. It was another three lengths back to Hippster, who paid $3.80 to show.
A 3-year-old colt by Curlin from the Nureyev mare England’s Rose, Jay Eye See has won two of his nine career races.
