JJ The Jet Plane injured in Dubai

SUPER sprinter J J The Jet Plane may have showcased his ability for the last time on an international stage after suffering a serious injury when working in Dubai.

Winner of the Al Quoz Sprint on his last start at Meydan on Dubai World Cup night, the Lucky Houdalakis-trained seven-year-old was being trained for the Krisflyer International Sprint in Singapore, but will now return to South Africa for treatment.

A statement released by Houdalakis's wife Natalie on behalf of T&L Racing Stables on Thursday said: "JJ has unfortunately suffered an injury in track work in Dubai whilst preparing for the Krisflyer International Sprint in May.

"He has suffered a core lesion of his medial lower suspensory of his near fore leg. Although not life threatening or permanently career ending, it is however serious enough to put an end to his international campaign.
