Unique Bella's first foal will be a filly, owner Don Alberto's breeding operation announced Monday, after a successful mating with Medaglia d'Oro.
The two-time champion, as top female sprinter in 2017 and overall female in 2018, Unique Bella won three Grade 1 races before retired last summer due to a sesamoid fracture.
The 5-year-old daughter of Tapit won nine of 12 starts overall.
Top earners in horses by Medaglia D’Oro include Rachel Alexandra, Songbird, Elate and Wonder Gadot, last year's winner of two legs of the Canadian Triple Crown.
