Is She's Complete the Next Clenor for Great Friends?

Great Friends stable and trainer Doug O’Neill will be shooting for a second straight victory in the $100,000 Oak Tree Juvenile Fillies when the one-mile turf event for 2-year-old fillies is run for the third time on Monday.

Last year the combination clicked with Clenor, an import from Ireland, who went on to compete in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf. This year, the import is She’s Complete, the 3-1 favorite off a second-place finish in a maiden special event on the Polytrack on August 13.

O’Neill assistant Steve Rothblum and Jack Sisterson found Clenor and went back to the same source for She’s Complete.

“She is by the same sire (Oratorio) and had the same trainer, Fozzy Stack, as Clenor,” Rothblum said. “She’s got some pedigree behind her and she’s really improved since she got here. I was very impressed with her first race here.”

WHAT’S IN A NAME -- The Oak Tree Juvenile Fillies Turf, inaugurated in 2012, provides an opportunity for juvenile fillies to demonstrate their ability at one mile over a grass surface. The race  honors the Oak Tree Racing Association.
