Is Cathy's Crunches the next Blind Luck?

Trainer Jerry Hollendorfer bought Cathy's Crunches after she romped in her debut in a maiden-claiming event for 2-year-old fillies in June at Calder Race Course in Miami - just like he had done a year earlier with Blind Luck.
He can only hope Cathy's Crunches approaches the success of Blind Luck, who developed into the nation's most accomplished 3-year-old filly this year and almost certainly will become Hollendorfer's first Eclipse Award winner.
Cathy's Crunches took another step in that direction Saturday at Golden Gate Fields, beating five male opponents in a 2 1/4-length victory in the $51,200 Golden Nugget Stakes. Two weeks earlier, Cathy's Crunches won the $50,900 Golden Gate Fields Debutante for 2-year-old fillies by 5 1/2 lengths.
