Interest Sold in Twirling Candy

William S. Farish’s Lane’s End Farm and California breeder/owner Martin Wygod have purchased an interest in grade I winner Twirling Candy.

Four-year-old Twirling Candy has won six of seven starts, including four stakes on dirt, turf, and synthetic surfaces, and has earned $579,900.

At 2, he won at Hollywood Park in his only start at that age. As a 3-year-old, he captured his first three starts including the Del Mar Derby (gr. IIT) by 3 1/4 lengths and the Oceanside Stakes by 2 1/4 lengths. In his final start at 3, he broke Spectacular Bid’s track record in the Malibu Stakes (gr. I) at Santa Anita, winning the seven-furlong stakes in 1:19.70

In his only start this year, Twirling Candy romped by 4 1/2 lengths in the Strub Stakes (gr. II) Feb. 5. Twirling Candy is scheduled to start next in the Santa Anita Handicap (gr. I) March 5.
