Injured Apprentice McManigell on the Mend

Apprentice jockey Kristina McManigell, injured in a Jan. 17 racing accident at Parx Racing in Pennsylvania, may be discharged from the University of Pennsylvania hospital Jan. 21.
Officials said McManigell was transferred to the Philadelphia hospital Jan. 20 but was up and walking. She has a hairline fracture of her C-6 vertebrae and some swelling from the fall, but could be back riding in a few weeks.
