Impressive debut winner Sircat Sally stretches out in Soviet Problem

Sircat Sally, an impressive debut winner for owner-breeder Joe Turner and Hollendorfer, will stretch out against five rivals in the Soviet Problem.
A daughter of Surf Cat and the In Excess mare Sister Sally, Sircat Sally won by five lengths Nov. 20 at Del Mar, completing six furlongs in 1:10.68 and earning $31,200. 
Hollendorfer is seeking his third win in the race, having captured the first two renewals at Holywood Park with Doinghardtimeagain (2012) and Swiss Lake Yodeler (2013).
How About Zero, who broke her maiden in the Golden State Juvenile Fillies last month, returns to dirt after finishing 10th of 13 in the Grade III Jimmy Durante Stakes Nov. 26.
Owned and bred by Reddam Racing and trained by O’Neill, the Square Eddie filly out of the In Excess mare Too Much Excess is 1-for-4 and has earned $149,245.
Ms Wakaya, who defeated How About Zero in a maiden race before finishing second to that rival in the Golden State Juvenile Fillies, will make her first start beyond seven furlongs for owner-breeder Tommy Town Thoroughbreds LLC and trainer Steve Miyadi.
The daughter of Flower Alley and the Successful Appeal mare Ms Vanenzza has one win in four races and has banked $81,460.
Reddam Racing LLC will also be represented by the maiden Ocean Dream. The Square Eddie filly out of the Tapit mare Walkingonadream has earned $8,105 in three outings for trainer Edward Freeman.
Bella Luma, who was among several troubled in the Durante, will be making her first start on dirt since finishing last of nine in her Aug. 28 debut.
Trained by Ed Moger, Jr. for Thomas Bachman and Linda Brown, the Ministers Wild Cat filly out of the Bold Badgett mare Bold Roberta earned her lone win by nine lengths at the Soviet Problem distance Oct. 29 at Golden Gate Fields. She’s collected $27,730 in four starts.
Cash Prize, a Pure Prize filly out of the Benchmark mare Cotton Babe, returns to the scene of her debut score for breeders Jilly and Dr. William T. Gray and Koriner.
A 24-1 winner Sept. 17 at Los Alamitos, Cash Prize has been unplaced in two subsequent races, most recently finishing fifth in the Golden State Juvenile Fillies. She has earned $36,180.

Restricted to 2-year-old fillies bred or sired in California, the one-mile Soviet Problem will go as the second race and has a scheduled post time of 12:58 p.m.
There will also be a Los Alamitos beanie hat giveaway – one per paid admission while supplies last.
In addition, there will be a live-money handicapping contest with a cash prize and three seats to the 2017 Daily Racing Form/National Thoroughbred Racing Assocation National Championship in Las Vegas on the line.
Cost to enter the tournament is $400. Of that amount, $100 will be placed in the contest prize pool with the remaining $300 going towards a live-money wagering card.
Tournament races will include the entire Los Alamitos card with Permitted wagers including win, place, show and exactas. Each entry must bet at least $50 on six races, but there is no limit on the amount of races each entrant can play.
If there are 120 or more entrants in the contest, a fourth seat to the NHC will be awarded.
