Fletcher and Carolyn Gray’s homebred I’m a Chatterbox heads a field of five accomplished fillies and mares entered Thursday for Sunday’s 61st running of the $500,000 Juddmonte Spinster (G1).
The 1 1/8-mile main track test is a “Win and You’re In” challenge race for the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) to be run Nov. 4 at Santa Anita.
The Juddmonte Spinster will go as the ninth race on Sunday’s 10-race program with a 5:45 p.m. ET post time. First post time Sunday is 1:05 p.m.
NBC will telecast the Juddmonte Spinster live as well as the Dixiana Bourbon (G3) from 5-6 p.m. as part of its “Breeders’ Cup Challenge Win and You’re In Series presented by Lane’s End Farm and America’s Best Racing” programs.
Trained by Larry Jones, I’m a Chatterbox comes into the Juddmonte Spinster off a fourth-place finish in the Personal Ensign (G1) at Saratoga on Aug. 27. Prior to the Personal Ensign, I’m a Chatterbox won the Delaware Handicap (G1) for the second Grade 1 victory of her career and fourth graded stakes victory.
Florent Geroux will ride I’m a Chatterbox and break from post position three.
One starter who already has a fees-paid berth to the Breeders’ Cup is Klaravich Stables’ and William Lawrence’s Paid Up Subscriber. Winner of the Fleur de Lis (G2) at Churchill Downs, Paid Up Subscriber finished just behind I’m a Chatterbox in the Personal Ensign and Delaware Handicap.
Trained by Al Stall Jr., Paid Up Subscriber will be ridden by Jose Ortiz and break from post position one.
Completing the field are the one-two finishers from last month’s Locust Grove (G3) at Churchill Downs, Paul Lichtefeld and Jack Stewart’s Engaginglee and Judy Hicks’ Miss Pink Diva, and Cheyenne Stables’ Genre, winner of the Molly Pitcher (G3) at Monmouth Park.

The field for the Juddmonte Spinster from the rail out with riders is: Paid Up Subscriber (Ortiz), Miss Pink Diva (Shaun Bridgmohan), I’m a Chatterbox (Geroux), Engaginglee (Luis Saez) and Genre (Javier Castellano). All starters will carry 124 pounds.
