How to bet Oaklawn Park's All Stakes Pick 3 on a budget

Photo: Benoit

Oaklawn Park will on Saturday offer an All Stakes Pick 3 featuring the Grade 2, $900,000 Rebel Stakes, a prep for the 2018 Kentucky Derby.

The multi-race wager also includes the $300,000 Essex Handicap and the Grade 2, $350,000 Azeri Stakes.

Saturday's Pick 3 sequence will start with the Essex Handicap, carded as Race 8 at Oaklawn with a scheduled post time of 5:55 p.m. ET. It will be followed by the Azeri Stakes (6:32 p.m. ET) and the Rebel Stakes (7:09 p.m. ET).

The minimum bet is 50 cents.

Check out my contenders and suggested tickets below.

Pick 3 Races

OP 8 (Essex, 8.5f)

Key Horse - #8 DALMORE

Backups - #7 Leofric, #2 Hedge Fund, #11 Multiplier

Comments: Dalmore looked great in his winning return at Santa Anita Park, and he takes his show on the road for his new connections. All four of his wins were at this distance, and Paco Lopez has options with the early/pressing type.

OP 9 (G2 Azeri, 8.5f)

Key Horse - #7 MARTINI GLASS

Backups - #1 Actress, #8 Blue Prize, #4 Tiger Moth, #6 Streamline

Comments: Gem of consistency Martini Glass fired trifecta shots in 11 of her last 12 starts. She can make it back-to-back graded wins today.

OP 10 (G2 Rebel, 8.5f)

Key Horse - #3 SOLOMINI

Backups - #10 Combatant, #4 Magnum Moon, #7 Sporting Chance

Comments: Solomini was a classy juvenile, and he exits the productive Los Alamitos Futurity (3 next out stakes winners). He is firing bullets for this, and Baffert is frequently dangerous with his 3-year-old stakes starters at Oaklawn.
