Horseshoe Indianapolis stewards suspended trainer Marvin Johnson and veterinarian Cynthia Loomis "for actions not in the best interests of racing and which compromise the integrity of operations at a racetrack," according to the Association of Racing Commissioners.

Johnson told Daily Racing Form the suspension is related to the possibility that Loomis treated one of his horses on Monday, the same day the horse was entered to race. Race-day treatments other than Lasix are prohibited.

All of Johnson's runners for upcoming races at the track were scratched. He had two entries on Monday, two on Tuesday, three on Wednesday and one on Thursday.

Indiana state steward Erik Smith told DRF that the summary suspensions were issued pending the conclusion of an ongoing investigation.

He said a hearing regarding potential violations won’t be scheduled until the investigation has been completed.

Johnson told DRF he did not know whether the horse was treated but that he trusts Loomis.

"I want to cooperate 100 percent," he said. "I'm not blaming anybody. I just want due process and to be able to tell my side of the story."
