Horseshoe Indianapolis wagered $287,801,273 in total handle during its 2025 meet, up 2.01% from $282,131,209 in 2024. The figure marks the fifth consecutive year the track set an all-time handle record.

That total could surpass $300 million once all international outlets are accounted for by year's end.

Handle per race increased 6.39% to $252,886 from $236,886 in 2024. On-track handle rose 2% to $4,818,434 from $4,724,140.

"We couldn't be more proud of our team and our season for the results we saw this year," said Eric Halstrom, vice president and general manager of racing. "We were going up against some pretty big numbers from 2024. Despite running 49 fewer races this year, we were still able to top last year's figures."

The 123-day meet concluded Nov. 13 with 49 fewer races than 2024. Adverse weather conditions reduced turf races to 198 from 237.

The track also set a single-day handle record with more than $9.163 million wagered July 5 during the 31st running of the Indiana Derby (G3). The previous record of $8.147 million came during the 2024 edition.

The sixth annual Indiana Champions Day on Oct. 25 set a record with more than $2.8 million wagered. The card featured both Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing.

Of the 123 racing days, six featured Quarter Horse racing. The May 31 card drew more than $1.273 million in handle, a single-day record for Quarter Horse racing at the track. The June 29 card brought in more than $1.142 million.

The 24th season of live Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing returns Tuesday, April 7.
