Horseshoe Indianapolis canceled racing Saturday due to storms.
The track announced the cancellation in a Saturday morning Tweet, citing heavy rains since Thursday. The track did conduct a full 13-race card on Thursday despite weather delay during the card.
The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for central Indiana, forecasting strong thunderstorms with hail and heavy rain, with a risk of tornadoes as well. They preduct a high of 86 on Saturday, with rain and thunderstorms mainly before 2 p.m. EDT, and again through the night.
Horseshoe Indianapolis carded 13 races for Saturday, all of which were for quarter horses. Those races were scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m. EDT. Ten of those 13 races were trials for the Heartland Futurity.
Horseshoe Indianapolis did not announce when Saturday's races would be rescheduled. The track's next scheduled day of racing is Monday, when they have a mixed card of thoroughbred and quarter horse races.
