HorseCenter: Pennsylvania Derby and Cotillion Stakes top picks

Photo:

This week on HorseCenter your hosts Brian Zipse and Matt Shifman handicap and offer top picks for the Grade 1, $1 million Pennsylvania Derby and Cotillion Stakes from Parx Racing on Saturday.

The Pennsylvania Derby drew a field of 11 for the final two-turn Grade 1 of the year restricted to 3-year-olds. Bob Baffert’s Reincarnate is the 3-1 morning line favorite and travels east following a victory in the Los Alamitos Derby. Saudi Crown from the Brad Cox barn will challenge him early in the 1 1/8-mile signature race at Parx.

The Cotillion has a field of nine talented 3-year-old fillies including the division leader Pretty Mischievous who won her last three Grade 1 races in a row. Five of the fillies come to this $1 million race with a victory in their most recent start, including Occult, who won the Monmouth Oaks (G3) by more than 10 lengths.

Enjoy the great card at Parx that includes 10 stakes races and three of them are graded. As always, thanks for watching the show.
