Race 6
The 20-cent minimum Pick 6 begins with a starter optional claiming event at one mile on turf. Post time is scheduled for 3:23 p.m. ET. Bareeqa is the deserving favorite, and some may single this one. Second choice Scatnap is one for her last nine, but has run fast enough to win a race like this on multiple occasions. Britesideoftheroad improved in her last pair and might be this good. For a bit of a better price, however, I will give 6-1 shot Lookinlikeaqueen a look. She captured three of her last five turf starts, and two of those victories were in the Florida-bred ranks. She was claimed out of her last race by Ronald Spatz and only has to run a tick faster to threaten these.
Race 7
Brookes All Mine is a razor-sharp reclaim and must be used in this one-mile claiming race on the main track. She is a possible single, but I want to include Put Position at 6-1 on the morning line. The latter is down in class and back on the main track, and trainer Scott Becker has strong stats with the turf-to-dirt move. She is clearly better on dirt and looks like an interesting rebound threat.
Race 8
Todd Pletcher trains the two top choices in this flat mile turf race for sophomores, and I will be using both. No Word makes his first start of the year after showing promise in a pair of juvenile turf routes. His stablemate Mystic Lancelot cuts back a furlong after improving on March 27. Patrol is the other one I want to use in this race, and he too is 6-1 on the morning line. The $350,000 Keeneland sales graduate looked good capturing his dirt sprint debut in New York on Feb. 15. He tries turf for the first time for Mark Casse.
Race 9
We are back on the main track at one mile, and this race is full of closers. I am including the logical late runners on my tickets but am also using possible controlling speed Blakey at 6-1 on the line. He exits a sharp local restricted claiming score at one mile, and it appears as though Gran Greyfrost from the rail is the only one with ability to go with him early.
Race 10
In this one-mile optional claiming event on the turf course, Seranitsa, Cariba, and Bering Strait are the three favorites, and all three have the credentials to win this race. Another contender at a better price is 6-1 shot All Quality. She had a troubled trip from the outside post in her needed local turf return on March 7. She can improve under Luis Saez.
Race 11
The finale is a straight maiden turf affair at one mile. How deep do you want to go in the final leg? I am comfortable using four horses. Renata is the tepid favorite making her second career start, and Makisupa might also improve second time out. Let Them Eat Cake might be the target in a race without much pace, and the final horse I am including is $850,000 purchase Royal Mandate. He stretched while switching to turf, stalked the pace from an outside post and finished second on March 6.
