Higher Court Developing for Albertrani

Darley Stable’s Higher Court came out of a scorching 5 ½-furlong allowance victory on the turf Saturday in good shape, according to trainer Thomas Albertrani.

The 3-year-old homebred son of Shamardal won the race by 2 ¾ lengths in a time of 1:01.21 under jockey Ramon Dominguez for his second victory in three starts.

“He turned up again with another super performance,” Albertrani said. “I think he got a 96 Beyer (Speed Figure). I haven’t made any decisions, and I’d be curious to try him on the dirt.”

Albertrani said he would be patient with Higher Court ’s development, probably looking for an overnight turf sprint stakes later in the meet.

“He looked like he’s a very talented horse,” Albertrani said.
