Hialeah Park Establishes New Record for Handle
For the second consecutive day, Hialeah Park has established a new record for the all-sources mutuel handle on a single live Quarter Horse racing program in Florida.
After all the math was done, the total wagered on the only Tuesday card of the 2015-16 season topped out at $615,279. That amount was some $18,209 better than the $597,070 total wagered just one day earlier.
“Records are made to be broken,” said Hialeah Park Vice President & General Manager Randy Soth. “We want to extend our gratitude to the horseplayers, TVG, and every simulcast outlet that is taking our signal this season.”
“We’ve picked up right where we left off at the end of very successful 2014-15 season,” Soth added. “We’ve averaged just over $535,000 in all-sources handle for the first four days of the meet and we’ll try to keep it going full throttle through the end of February.”
Hialeah Park’s Director of Simulcasting/Track Announcer Peter Aiello commented, “Again, we want to thank all of our simulcast partners for their unwavering support of our racing season year in and year out. While we took advantage of a gap in the market today, we could not have reached this milestone without the support of our loyal horseplayers and fans.”
“We hope to maintain our momentum as we move into 2016,” Aiello said. “We will continue to offer our $5,000-guaranteed Pick Fours as part of our Monday Madness racing cards.”
Live Quarter Horse racing resumes on Friday afternoon January 1, 2016 when Hialeah Park begins the second week of its 10-week 2015-16 season. For the duration of the meet, live racing will be offered Fridays through Mondays. First post is at 12:35 PM ET, parking and admission are always free of charge.
