He's So Chic Loves Monmouth Park

Plain and simple: He’s So Chic loves the Monmouth Park dirt.

The 7-year-old returns to his favorite track Sunday as the 3-1 second choice in the $75,000 Longfellow Stakes run at six furlongs.

Trained by Jason Servis, Oceanside Stable’s He’s So Chic is a six-time winner over the Oceanport main track and according to his conditioner is training brilliantly for his seasonal debut.

“He’s really training excellent,” Servis said.  “He’s shown in the past he can run well fresh.  He’s not the kind of horse you need to re-invent the wheel with.  We just try to get him fit and lead him over.  He takes care of the rest.”

Off since finishing second in the Teddy Drone last summer at Monmouth Park, He’s So Chic will face seven rivals in his 2011 debut.

The 10-time winner will break from post 7 beneath jockey Paco Lopez.

“We’re looking forward to getting him back to the races,” Servis said.  “He obviously really loves Monmouth Park and couldn’t be training better.”

He’s So Chic capped off his preparation for the Longfellow with a blistering four-furlong work in :47 2/5 on May 22.  The move was the second fastest work of 116 that morning at the distance.
