Handicapping: Ride hot hands, speed at Lone Star
With just 10 days into the Lone Star Park meet, this is a good time to find some trends that are developing in the early part of the meet. Let's take a look at some of the trainers and jockeys with hot hands as well as the trends that are developing on the track.
From a training perspective, the HRN Hot Trainer stat shows that Kari Craddock and Karl Broberg are simply on fire in their last 10 starts. Especially Craddock, whose runners are winning over 1.5x more than their odds indicate they should, posting a huge 158% impact score.
Looking at the jocks room, below is a snapshot of the HRN Jockey Report highlighting the main track performance. The stats speak for themselves as we see certain riders starting to outperform their odds while others aren't performing much at all. Keep an eye on the hot riders and go with the hot hands until things change.
Looking at track trends, speed is a priority when sprinting on the main track. To review track trends on your own, use the free HRN Track Trends Tool to check out different distance and surface combinations.
In turf routes, not only is speed important but also being inside. Over 70 percent of winners so far have come from speed or stalkers in the inside six posts.
