Having wintered in the midwest, Gary Stevens is moving his tack back to California, the Hall of Fame jockey's wife, Angie, announced Tuesday evening on Twitter.

Stevens rode at Oaklawn Park to open 2018, then picked up mounts at Keeneland and more recently Churchill Downs once the Kentucky circuit switched.

According to Equibase, Stevens has won with 30 of his 184 mounts so far this year and finished in the money 44 percent of the time, matching his rate in 2017. The Idaho native has ranked among the Top 100 earners in each of the last five years, with his last Triple Crown race win in the 2013 Preakness with Oxbow and Beholder his top grossing horse at more than $4.2 million.

In his move to the Midwest, Stevens nabbed two graded stakes, the Bayakoa (G3) on Streamline and Fantasy (G3) on Sassy Sienna, with the latter victory qualifying the filly for the Kentucky Oaks.
