HRTV (R), The Network for Horse Sports, will assist in ushering in a new era for Thoroughbred racing in Southern California when it presents live on-site coverage of the inaugural Los Alamitos Thoroughbred meeting, beginning on Thursday, July 3.

HRTV's Kurt Hoover will be trackside daily at the Orange County facility for the eight-day Summer Thoroughbred Festival, which will conducted over the track's new one-mile surface.  Hoover's daily presence will include in-depth race coverage and analysis, the latest up-to-date information, and timely interviews with key connections.

Addtionally, HRTV's Michelle Yu will serve as Los Alamitos' simulcast host.

"We are delighted to be on-site at Los Alamitos for the first time to report on a new chapter in Thoroughbred racing in California," said Scott Daruty, President of HRTV.  "We anticipate this meeting to be an exciting new showcase for top-quality racing in Southern California."

Los Alamitos will race on a Thursday-Sunday basis, through Closing Day, July 13, with a daily 2 p.m. PT first post.

Highlighting the compact session is the Grade 2, $500,000 Los Alamitos Derby on July 5.  In all, Los Alamitos will offer seven stakes races during the boutique meeting, including the $100,000 Bertrando on Opening Day.
