HRN will host Turfway Park livestream Thursday night

Like March, Turfway Park came in like a lion on Wednesday night, dominating the Thoroughbred racing landscape as the leading signal by handle and producing big payouts, including a 68,000-1 trifecta.

Horse Racing Nation was a part of the fun during a 2 1/2-hour livestream following along with the early Pick 5, and we're back for more Thursday with a similar schedule.

Mark Midland will join Ed DeRosa to watch and wager on the Kentucky track via livestream on YouTube sponsored by the Kentucky Thoroughbred Development Fund, which has infused millions of dollars into purses in the commonwealth as well as marketing dollars to promote the sport to international audiences.

The stream begins at 5:30 p.m. EST and will cover the first five races, which make up the early Pick 5. On Wednesday's stream, Midland was alive through four legs of the Pick 5 with payouts up to as much as $50,000, but he could not connect in the final leg, making for some heartbreaking footage.

An important part of playing the multi-race wagers at Turfway is race 5 because it is both the final leg of the early pick 5 and the first leg of the late Pick 5. Ed DeRosa is tossing the favorite from those bets tonight and is particularly interested in a potential long shot, 12-1 on the morning line, on top.
