HRN Monmouth Report : Week 13

August 13 (day 37) - Fast and Firm


Both surfaces seemed to play fair. 

Hat trick for Paco Lopez and Carlos Marquez Jr. Elvis Trujillo booted home a pair. Bruce Alexander and Anthony Margotta Jr. both saddled two winners on the afternoon.

August 14 (day 38) - Fast and Firm


Both surfaces seemed to play fair.

Terry Thompson took Julien Leparoux to school in the Grade 3 Monmouth Oaks. Thompson's mount No Such Word sat the right tactical trip behind a contested early pace while Leparoux was content to lag far behind aboard runner-up Seeking The Title. The winner got a big jump and scored by a comfortable 1.5 lengths. It was eight lengths back to show finisher C C's Pal. 

August 15 (day 39) - Fast and Firm


Both surfaces seemed to play fair once again.

Carlos Marquez Jr. and Jose Valdivia Jr. both booted home a pair.

Dubai Majesty (10th race) ran down heavy favorite West Ocean in the Incredible Revenge Stakes for filly and mare turf sprinters.
