First Look: Ragtime headlines Churchill's Chilukki

The fall meets wind down but the graded stakes keep coming, with Churchill Downs hosting Saturday's Grade 3 Chilukki as part of a five-race weekend that brings together emerging talent and proven performers across three tracks.

Ragtime brings Grade 1 experience to Saturday's Chilukki after coming up short in Saratoga's Test (G1) this summer. The 3-year-old filly has hit the board in every start for trainer Bill Mott, including a win in the Dogwood (G3) at Churchill in September.

Five stakes this weekend offer horseplayers opportunities from coast to coast, with graded action at Churchill Downs, Woodbine and Aqueduct.

Saturday

Chilukki (G3), Churchill Downs, 1 mile, fillies and mares, 3-year-olds and up

Ragtime has finished first, second or third in all five career starts with three victories. The 3-year-old won the Dogwood by 2 1/4 lengths at Churchill Downs on Sept. 20 and placed second by a neck in Saratoga's Test, where she earned a 96 Beyer Speed Figure, according to Daily Racing Form. The daughter of Union Rags came home third most recently in Keeneland's Raven Run (G2) on Oct. 18.

Claiming Crown Jewel, Churchill Downs, 1 1/8 miles, 3-year-olds and up

Double Your Money captured an allowance on Oct. 18, stalking before drawing clear by 2 1/4 lengths with a 90 Beyer Speed Figure, according to Daily Racing Form. Before that, he finished second by 1 3/4 lengths in the Greenwood Cup (G3) at Parx on Sept. 20 earning a career-best 106 Beyer. The 4-year-old also ran second by 2 3/4 lengths at Parx on Aug. 19.

Jockey Club Oaks (G3), Aqueduct, 1 3/8 miles, turf, fillies, 3-year-olds

Laurelin suffered her first career defeat when Lush Lips edged her by 1 1/4 lengths in the Queen Elizabeth II Cup (G1) at Keeneland on Oct. 11. The 5-year-old Ireland-bred mare had reeled off five consecutive victories, including a 1 3/4-length score in the Saratoga Oaks Invitational (G2) on Aug. 9 and a 1 1/4-length triumph in the Penn Oaks on June 27 at Penn National.

Kennedy Road (G2), Woodbine, 6 furlongs, synthetic, 3-year-olds and up

Simcoe captured five of six starts heading into the Kennedy Road, including back-to-back Grade 3 victories in the Vigil and Bold Venture at Woodbine. The Ontario-bred colt won twice at Turfway before finishing second in the Jacques Cartier (G3), then strung together three consecutive wins. He dominated the Bold Venture (G3) by 5 3/4 lengths and held off rivals by 1 3/4 lengths in the Vigil (G3).

Sunday

Pebbles (G3), Aqueduct, 1 mile, turf, fillies, 3-year-olds

Fast Market broke her maiden by 2 1/4 lengths at Aqueduct on Sept. 21 before placing second, a neck short, in the Sands Point (G2) on Oct. 18. The Volatile filly previously finished sixth in a Saratoga maiden attempt on Aug. 21 and was second, beaten 2 1/4 lengths, at the same track on July 20.
