Gulfstream, Santa Anita combine for coast-to-coast Pick 5

Beginning Saturday, Santa Anita and Gulfstream Park again will team to present a coast-to-coast Pick 5, which will include player-friendly 15 percent takeout. With a $1 minimum bet, it will be offered every Saturday and Sunday through April 7, closing day of Santa Anita’s winter-spring meet.

With a no-consolation provision, there will be a 100 percent carryover of that day’s net pool to the next day’s coast-to-coast Pick 5 in the event there is no winning ticket with five correct selections.

The coast-to-coast Pick 5, which debuted last year, posted an average pool size of $224,824 per day with an average payout of $11,488.

These are the races and EST post times that will be part of this year’s first coast-to-coast Pick 5 on Saturday:

1st leg: Gulfstream Park race 9, 4:06 p.m.

2nd leg: Gulfstream Park race 10, 4:35 p.m.

3rd leg: Santa Anita race 5, 5 p.m.

4th leg: Gulfstream Park race 11, 5:05 p.m.

5th leg: Santa Anita race 7, 6 p.m.
