Four months after she wowed the racing world with a track-record victory in the Humana Distaff (gr. I) at Churchill Downs, Groupie Doll returned to action with another impressive effort in winning the $400,600 Presque Isle Downs Masters Stakes (gr. II) Sept. 8 in Erie, Pa.

Groupie Doll, who captured the Vinery Madison Stakes (gr. I) by three lengths at Keeneland prior to her 7 1/4-length romp in the Humana Distaff May 5, has now three of six starts in 2012 with one second and two thirds. She currently ranks as the top female sprinter in the nation.

Able to track a fast pace from the near the rear of the 11-horse field at Presque Isle Downs, 7-10 favorite Groupie Doll swung into action when angled to the outside on the turn for home by jockey Rajiv Maragh. She charged home after getting the lead approaching mid-stretch for a 3 3/4-length victory.
