Graded stakes winner Gunnevera back at the barn after injury

Salomon Del Valle’s Gunnevera returned to trainer Antonio Sano’s stable at Gulfstream Park West on Friday to begin preparation for a return to racing after vacationing in Ocala for more than a month.
The multiple graded-stakes winner, who finished third in the $16 million Pegasus World Cup (G1) at Gulfstream Jan. 27, sustained a foot injury while finishing off the board in the March 31 Dubai World Cup (G1) in his most recent start.
“The foot has healed very good,” Sano said. “We’re not in a hurry with him.”
