Graded Turf Winner Bearpath Dies

Graded stakes winner and grade I stakes-placed Bearpath, who sustained a shoulder injury during the John’s Call Stakes at Saratoga Aug. 5, was euthanized Sept. 23.
Trainer Ian Wilkes said that all efforts were made to save the 5-year-old Dynaformer gelding. “Over the past couple of weeks, Bearpath had started to go the wrong way, and while we remained hopeful he would turn the corner, he did not,” Wilkes said.
