Grade 2 winner Pretty Unusual dies

Pretty Unusual, a Grade 2 winner in January at Santa Anita Park, died on Sunday because of complications from emergency surgery.
A press release from co-breeder and co-owner Madeline Auerbach did not specify a reason for the surgery.
Pretty Unusual, by Unusual Heat, won the restricted Melair Stakes at Hollywood Park last May for trainer Barry Abrams. On January 17, she scored by 1 ΒΌ lengths over champion Stardom Bound at 29.70-to-1 odds in the El Encino Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita.
