Grade 2 winner Majestic Heat retired, to meet Uncle Mo

Recent Grade 2 Bayakoa Stakes winner Majestic Heat has been retired from racing after her fifth-place finish Saturday in Santa Anita Park’s Grade 1 Santa Margarita Stakes, owner-racing manager Madeline Auerbach announced.

A California-bred daughter of sire Unusual Heat, Majestic Heat was trained for the bulk of her career by Hall of Fame conditioner Richard Mandella and was known for her versatility and durability during her four seasons of racing.  Majestic Heat is a four-time stakes winner on both turf and dirt while also winning stakes both sprinting and routing.

Her top accomplishment on the track was her victory in the 2017 Bayakoa at Los Alamitos, defeating 2016 Eclipse Award winner Champagne Room in the process. The dark bay mare also captured the 2016 Solana Beach Stakes at Del Mar and came back to defend her title and win the 2017 edition of the Solana Beach in similar fashion. She also captured the 2017 Betty Grable Stakes at Del Mar along with being stakes placed in the 2018 Santa Maria Stakes (G2) and 2018 Spring Fever Stakes, both at Santa Anita Park.

Owned by the co-breeder Auerbach along with Ron McCauley and Bardy Farm, Majestic Heat is a full sister the Multiple Stakes Winner and Grade 1 placed Mensa Heat along with stakes placed Real Heat and $249,000 earner Empty Headed. Her full sister, Phi Beta Heat, was an allowance winner and is the dam of 2018 $200,000 Unusual Heat Turf Classic winner Rye.

Majestic Heat boasts career earnings of $578,329 and a final record of 20-7-1-2. She will be bred in 2018 to Coolmore-Ashford Stud’s stallion Uncle Mo.
