Gozzip Girl kicks-off Cup season

Gozzip Girl, who has become one the nation’s top sophomore fillies in the shadow of superstar Rachel Alexandra, will seek a third consecutive victory and second at the top level on Saturday in the $300,000 Garden City Handicap (G1) at Belmont Park.

Unlike Rachel Alexandra, the Dynaformer filly is a specialist on grass. She has won four of her past five starts, including the American Oaks Invitational Stakes (G1) on July 5 at Hollywood Park in her most recent start, her lone defeat being second by a neck to Hooh Why in the Ashland Stakes (G1) on April 4 at Keeneland Race Course on Polytrack.
