Gotta Have Her best again down the hill

Gotta Have Her proved her superiority over Santa Anita's hillside turf course once again when the versatile mare slipped through an opening at the rail approaching mid-stretch and drew off to win Oak Tree's $100,000 Sen. Ken Maddy Handicap (gr. IIIT) Oct. 17.

Now four-for-four over the unique layout at about 6 1/2 furlongs, Gotta Have Her was cutting back in distance for trainer Jenine Sahadi after winning the 1 1/8-mile Palomar Handicap (gr. IIT) by a neck in her last start Sept. 9 at Del Mar. Regular jockey Tyler Baze rode the 5-year-old daughter of Royal Academy to victory for owner Green Lantern Stables in a sharp time of 1:12.09 on a hot day in Arcadia, Calif.
