Del Mar blog - Cool, grey day favors closers at Del Mar

Weather at Del Mar today is cloudy, cool and misty.  Keep in mind, since the Polytrack surface has been installed, horses that come from off the pace have an advantage under these types of weather conditions.

According to my notes, one of the horses that is working super in the mornings is #2 Roman Chic in today's 2nd race.  Keep tabs on this three-year old filly making her third career start.

Also, recently claimed #2 Warring Heart in the 9th race out of the Jim Kasparoff barn is another that appears to be jumping out of his hide.  Look for a break out race today from this one.

As you prepare for the Del Mar card today, remember that horses coming over from Hollywood that ran in front on the turf should be downgraded at Del Mar.  Same goes for those that were able to carry their speed at 6.5 to 7.5 furlongs on the Cushion surface..they should be discounted a notch or two as they make the switch to Del Mar.
